OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) — Omaha Public Works is warning drivers about nightly lane closures on Interstate 480 starting next week.

Closures tied to the Omaha Streetcar construction project will begin at 9 p.m. Monday and continue overnight through Friday, with all lanes reopening by 6 a.m. each morning, weather permitting.

Officials said at least one lane of I-480 will remain open while crews work.

The construction will move from west to east, starting in the southbound lanes before shifting to the northbound side. Some days may see traffic impacts in both directions.

During work on the southbound lanes, the 30th Street on-ramp to southbound I-480 will also be closed.

Officials urge drivers to follow posted signs and barricades, noting that traffic patterns may change throughout the project.

The overnight closures will allow crews to prepare for concrete pours for the Farnam Street bridge.
