OHIO — A $60 million Mega Millions jackpot-winning ticket sold in Van Wert has now been officially claimed, according to the Ohio Lottery.

Lottery officials said the ticket was purchased on St. Patrick’s Day at Tyler’s Short Stop, located at 714 E. Main St. The Happy Trails Trust claimed the prize, with attorney Shaun A. Putman representing it.

The winner selected the lump-sum cash option of $30 million. After federal and state taxes totaling 26.75%, the trust will receive about $21,975,000.

The winning numbers for the drawing were 4, 11, 18, 38 and 50, with a Mega Ball of 24. The ticket was an auto-pick and matched all five white balls along with the Mega Ball to win the jackpot.

The odds of winning the Mega Millions jackpot are roughly 1 in 290 million.

Tyler’s Short Stop will receive a $60,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.

Mega Millions drawings take place at 11 p.m. on Tuesdays and Fridays.
