OHIO — An Ohio Lottery player has claimed a life-changing prize after buying a winning scratch-off ticket in Sandusky County.
The ticket came from the Monopoly 200X Scratch-Off, a $30 game that offers a top prize of $200,000 a year for 25 years. The total prize is valued at $5 million and was claimed by Trust No. 352026, represented by attorney Nathan D. Benner.
The trust chose the lump sum option of $2.5 million instead of annual payments. After required state and federal taxes totaling 26.75%, the final payout is $1,831,250.
The winning ticket was sold at Fraternal Order of Eagles AERIE #2291.
According to the Ohio Lottery, the overall odds of winning any prize in the Monopoly 200X Scratch-Off are 1 in 3.35. As of April 21, two top prizes are still unclaimed.
Since it began in 1974, the Ohio Lottery says it has contributed more than $34 billion to education across the state.
