The man from Mingo Junction told Ohio Lottery officials he stopped for gas at the Speedway on Allen Road in Octa while heading home for Easter and noticed another customer scratching a lottery ticket.

Inspired by the woman, he bought his own ticket—an Ultimate $5,000,000 scratch-off—but quickly realized he had a problem: he didn’t have any coins.

The woman offered him her “lucky scratcher,” and he used it to reveal a $50,000 prize.

Despite her protests, the player gave the woman $100 and hurried to his car to call his wife.

The winner said he will use the prize money to pay off some bills, help his daughter make a down payment on a car, and take his wife on a vacation to Myrtle Beach.
