CHEVIOT, Ohio (WKRC) — A SWAT situation in Cheviot ended with the death of a wanted man, police said.
Authorities reported that the man was wanted for allegedly pistol-whipping someone on April 16. Just after 10:30 a.m. Friday, officers located him in a parked car on Glenmore Avenue, but he ignored commands when he exited the vehicle.
Police said he then ran into a nearby residence. Due to his history of violence, officers called in SWAT.
Officers later heard a gunshot from inside the home and discovered the man dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Glenmore Avenue remained closed for several hours during the incident.
