Temperatures climb into the 80s starting Monday
LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – Summer-like weather is making a return across Nebraska, with highs rising into the 80s and possibly reaching the 90s through Thursday.
The Warm-Up
Monday begins the stretch with pleasant and warm conditions. Tuesday will be the hottest day, with highs nearing 90 degrees across much of the state.

Isolated Storms Tuesday Evening?
Most of Tuesday will stay dry and sunny, but isolated showers and storms may develop in the evening. These are expected to be limited, so most areas will remain dry. Conditions settle again by Wednesday during the day after the system passes.

Severe Storm Threat Late Week
Conditions turn more active late Wednesday into Thursday as shower and storm chances increase. An upper-level disturbance and a cold front will move through, bringing a more organized round of rain and storms.
There is also a chance for scattered severe storms in southeast Nebraska as the system moves through. Continue to monitor updates for timing and potential impacts.

The Cool Down
The cold front will bring temperatures back down into the low to mid 60s by next weekend. Showers may return later in the weekend as well.
