OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – Clouds are building on this chilly morning, with a few light showers beginning to reach the ground. The better chances for rain will arrive during the afternoon and early evening across much of the area.

Temperatures in the 40s this morning will only climb into the mid-50s this afternoon, as thick cloud cover sticks around for most of the day. Winds from the north will remain light, offering some relief.

By Wednesday morning, temperatures will drop to around 40 in the metro, with colder readings likely outside the city. This could bring patchy frost, especially to areas north and west of Omaha.

Wednesday afternoon will turn warmer, with highs reaching the 60s before a few spotty showers move in from the northwest during the evening. These showers are not expected to be heavy.

Scattered showers will remain possible Thursday morning and afternoon, but again, rainfall should stay light. Highs will continue in the 60s.

While patchy frost may develop on several mornings this week, the greatest chances appear to be Friday and Saturday mornings.

Afternoon temperatures will rise noticeably over the weekend, reaching the 60s and 70s. However, the overall pattern of cooler weather and low humidity is expected to persist into the first full week of May.
