The Omaha Police Department arrested two people after a shooting near Levi Carter Park early Sunday left three individuals hospitalized.
OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – Police took two suspects into custody following a shooting near Levi Carter Park early Sunday that sent three people to the hospital.
Authorities arrested 19-year-old Maurice Jones on charges of first-degree felony assault, use of a weapon to commit a felony, possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, and a tax stamp violation, according to a release issued Monday.
Police also booked 19-year-old Michael Jones on charges of accessory to a felony, possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, and a tax stamp violation.
The shooting occurred shortly after 1 a.m. near Carter Lake Shore Drive and Ames Avenue.
At the scene, officers found a 19-year-old woman suffering from gunshot wounds. Emergency crews transported her to the hospital in critical condition.
Police later said two 20-year-old men also arrived at the hospital while officers were still at the scene. Investigators determined that both men were also shot during the incident near Levi Carter Park.
