OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) — A Lincoln woman has been arrested after allegedly pointing a handgun at a pregnant woman during a gender reveal party in Elkhorn, authorities said.
Alexus Brown, 28, was booked into Douglas County Corrections on Monday on a charge of terroristic threats. She is expected to appear in court Wednesday.
According to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a disturbance at an apartment complex clubhouse around 5:42 p.m. on Feb. 22.
When a deputy arrived, two people outside said a gender reveal party had been taking place inside. The deputy later learned those individuals were “possibly in possession of a firearm” that had been pointed at a pregnant woman during the event.
By the time the deputy returned outside, the couple had already left.
The deputy then spoke with the visibly pregnant victim, who said the incident began when a child asked to use a Polaroid camera and was told no, upsetting the child’s mother, Brown.
Authorities say Brown began yelling threats and tried to fight the expectant mother at the party but was restrained by others.
At some point, Brown allegedly pulled a pink and silver handgun from her purse, pointed it at the pregnant woman and shouted, “I’m finna shoot you! On my Block! On my hood!”
Investigators say Brown also pointed the gun at her own uncle, who left before deputies arrived.
On Feb. 25, a deputy contacted Brown by phone. She declined to discuss details but confirmed she attended the party and described the situation as “family issues,” adding she was “letting stuff die down.”
When told that witnesses were frightened, Brown reportedly responded, “Yeah.”
The investigation remains ongoing.
