OHIO — Authorities arrested two people following a drug trafficking investigation in Meigs County, according to the Meigs County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies took Annetta Lambert and Kevin Roush into custody Friday evening after executing a search warrant at an apartment on North Second Avenue in Middleport. The search was part of an ongoing probe into suspected drug activity.
Deputies said that when they entered the residence, a woman ran into a room where a large bag of suspected fentanyl was allegedly being tampered with, in what authorities described as an attempt to conceal it.
Several individuals inside the apartment were detained, and deputies noted that five juveniles were also present at the scene. Child Protective Services was contacted.
During the search, deputies reported discovering a large bag of suspected methamphetamine, along with additional suspected methamphetamine found in Roush’s possession.
Lambert and Roush were both charged with possession of drugs. Lambert also faces additional charges, including trafficking in drugs and tampering with evidence.
Meigs County Sheriff Scott Fitch addressed the arrests in a statement, condemning drug activity involving children and warning that authorities will continue to take action against those involved.
The investigation is ongoing.
