OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) — A 14-year-old was hospitalized following a minibike crash in Omaha on Saturday night.

According to Omaha Police, the incident occurred near 23rd and Bancroft streets around 7:30 p.m.

Authorities said the teen was traveling north on 23rd Street when a dog suddenly ran into the path of the minibike. The bike struck the dog, causing the rider to be thrown from the vehicle.

The teen was transported to a hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening. The dog died as a result of the crash.
