OHIO — A vehicle crashed through the front of a Walmart store in Medina on Saturday afternoon after the driver experienced a medical emergency, according to police.

The Medina Township Police Department said emergency crews responded to the Walmart at 4141 Pearl Road around 4:37 p.m. on March 28 following reports of a crash.

Investigators said a 44-year-old man was driving in the parking lot when he suffered a medical emergency. His vehicle hit a bollard, went airborne, and smashed through the store’s front window, coming to rest partially inside the vestibule where shopping carts are stored.

Authorities said the driver managed to exit the vehicle on his own and was taken to a hospital for evaluation.

Police confirmed that no customers or employees inside the store were hurt, though the crash caused significant structural damage.

The incident is still under investigation.
