OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – One person was hospitalized following a motorcycle crash on Interstate 480 Sunday evening, according to Omaha Police.
Authorities told First Alert 6 that the crash occurred around 5:15 p.m. on I-480 near the West Dodge to North Freeway ramp.
Police said a 22-year-old man riding the motorcycle crashed and was thrown off the side of the bridge onto the northbound Highway 75 ramp.
Investigators believe speed played a role in the crash.
The motorcyclist was transported to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Following the crash, Highway 75 northbound was temporarily closed but is expected to reopen soon. Highway 75 southbound and I-480 eastbound were also shut down but have since reopened, according to the Nebraska Department of Transportation.
