LINCOLN, Neb. (KNOP) – A section of I-80 westbound was closed Sunday because of weather-related conditions.
According to Nebraska 511, westbound I-80 between mile marker 105 near Big Springs and Exit 55 near Sidney is currently closed.
The Nebraska Department of Transportation said winter weather moving through Nebraska and nearby states has caused multiple road closures. At this time, closures in Wyoming are also forcing interstate shutdowns in western Nebraska.
In addition to the severe weather, NDOT warned about ongoing fires across Nebraska and advised drivers to avoid travel if possible.
