DES MOINES, Iowa (KCRG) – The Iowa Department of Transportation has shut down sections of Interstate 80 due to hazardous conditions.

The DOT reported that all lanes in both directions of I-80 are closed from mile marker 8 near Council Bluffs to the Jordan Creek Parkway exit at mile marker 121 in West Des Moines.

Officials also closed every lane of I-80 between Altoona and Coralville.

In addition to the severe weather, law enforcement officers have responded to several incidents.

The DOT advised against travel on all state roadways north of U.S. 30, particularly in the northeastern part of the state.
