HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) — The superintendent of Hastings Public Schools has been placed on paid administrative leave, according to a member of the district’s Board of Education.
Board member Jodi Graves confirmed that Superintendent Christopher Prososki was placed on leave April 13 while the district investigates what she described as a “personnel matter.” She declined to provide further details.
Graves also did not say whether the situation is connected to a police citation issued last month involving Prososki’s wife for shoplifting.
Attempts to reach Prososki for comment were unsuccessful, and a message left for school board president Becky Sullivan was not immediately returned.
Hastings Police cited Jennifer Prososki on March 4 for shoplifting alcohol. She later resigned from her role as a special education teacher at Alcott Elementary School.
Prososki, a native of Kearney, became superintendent of Hastings Public Schools on July 1, 2025, succeeding Jeff Schneider, who retired after serving in the role since 2019.
