Omaha (WOWT) — Four people were taken to the hospital following a three-vehicle crash in North Omaha Saturday night.

According to the Omaha Police Department, officers responded to the scene near 60th Street and Ames Avenue around 8 p.m. after receiving reports of a collision.

Police said a Jeep traveling east on Ames Avenue at a high rate of speed struck a Chevrolet Tahoe that was attempting a U-turn to head east. The Jeep then lost control, hit the rear of a Chevrolet Traverse, crossed the median, and went off the roadway on the north side of Ames Avenue.

All three drivers, along with a passenger in the Jeep, were transported to a hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening.

Authorities said the investigation remains ongoing, with speed and seatbelt use being examined as possible contributing factors.
