OMAHA, Neb. — A man who attacked a U.S. Marshals Service vehicle during an immigration raid at Glenn Valley Foods last year has been sentenced to nearly two years in federal prison.

Osmar Lorenzo-Genchi, 20, received a 22-month federal prison sentence with no parole and was ordered to pay $2,284.40 in restitution. U.S. District Judge Brian C. Buescher handed down the sentence for assaulting, resisting, or impeding officers with intent to commit another felony.

According to a release from U.S. Attorney Lesley A. Woods’ office, Lorenzo-Genchi was among workers detained during a Homeland Security Investigations operation on June 10, 2025.

Officials said agents interviewed individuals and collected biometric data to verify their legal work status. Authorities identified Lorenzo-Genchi as a U.S. citizen, documented his information, and released him from the property.

As officers began leaving the site, a deputy U.S. Marshal attempted to exit in a government vehicle along J Street. Authorities said Lorenzo-Genchi and others blocked the roadway by standing in front of the vehicle.

Reports state the deputy exited the vehicle to clear the area and pushed Lorenzo-Genchi aside. He then ran back into the street, punched the vehicle’s side mirror, and damaged it. He also grabbed and bent the rear windshield wiper, rendering it unusable.

According to officials, Lorenzo-Genchi spat on the deputy before moving toward other departing federal vehicles, where he began throwing rocks and debris, striking seven vehicles.

Officers attempted to detain him, but a growing crowd made it unsafe at the time, according to the release. Authorities later arrested him on a federal warrant.

“Any assault on federal law enforcement officers who are simply carrying out their official duties and following orders to keep our communities safe will result in federal charges,” Woods said.

She added that U.S. Marshals play a critical role in apprehending dangerous fugitives and enforcing federal laws, and assaults against them cannot be tolerated.

Officials said the conviction and sentence reflect the seriousness of the offense.
