OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – Omaha police arrested a Gretna landscaping owner accused of shooting out a man’s windshield during a road rage incident on Friday.

Trevor Masters, 35, faces charges including unlawful discharge of a firearm, attempted Class II felony, use of a firearm to commit a felony, discharging a firearm near a vehicle or building and tampering with evidence of a pending Class II felony.

According to a police report, officers responded around 4:11 p.m. to the area of 144th and Harrison Streets near the Regis Food Mart after reports of shots fired.

A man told police he was driving in the area when he realized he was in the wrong turn lane. As he attempted to switch lanes, a white Ford pickup truck blocked him.

The man followed the driver, later identified as Masters, to the food mart parking lot, where an argument began, police said.

The man reported that Masters told him, “I will put you on a t-shirt,” and said he had a gun. The man replied, “go get your gun then,” before attempting to drive away.

Police said Masters then went to his vehicle, retrieved what appeared to be a black object and pointed it at the man’s car, shattering the rear windshield, according to surveillance video.

The victim told police the truck was a company vehicle, which officers identified as belonging to JMD Masters Lawn and Landscape LLC. Masters was confirmed as the owner of the business.

Police later went to Masters’ home in Gretna and spoke with his wife, who said she was there at the time of the shooting. She did not see the shot fired but heard it, according to the report.

She also told officers that Masters removed several firearms from their home and took them to a storage locker.

Police said Masters was arrested and “made a full confession to firing his handgun post Miranda.”
