OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – As summer draws near, it’s almost time to enroll your child in outdoor swim lessons.
Registration opens Monday, April 13 at 9 a.m., with options for both morning and evening classes. To sign up, visit the City of Omaha Parks and Recreation Department website or stop by any community center.
In a Facebook post, the department cautioned that spots fill quickly and shared details on the full schedule and age groups.
Session 1 will run from June 15-25, while Session 2 is scheduled for July 13-23. Parents or guardians can choose a time slot based on the swimmer’s age.
“Swimmers are assessed by skill level on the first day and placed in the class that best fits their ability,” the post states.
Classes will take place Monday through Thursday over two weeks, with each session lasting about 30 minutes. The fee is $35 per child per session at Camelot, Deer Ridge, Elkhorn, Elmwood, Oak Heights and Roanoke pools.
The cost is $15 per child per session at Gallagher, Hitchcock, Karen, Miller and Spring Lake pools.
