Police respond to shots fired near 50th and Leavenworth; 19-year-old hospitalized with head injury
OPD says the investigation is ongoing.
OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) — Omaha police are investigating a shooting that occurred early Sunday morning.
Officers say the incident happened near 50th and Leavenworth streets, close to Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, just before 1 a.m.
Police initially responded to a report of shots fired, which was later upgraded to a confirmed shooting. Officers located a crime scene with evidence of gunfire but did not find a victim at that location.
Authorities said the incident began at a house party.
After police arrived, a 19-year-old male showed up at a hospital in a private vehicle with a head injury.
His injuries are reported to be non-life-threatening.
