Police in Omaha cordoned off the gas pump area at a downtown station after the canopy began to lean.
The incident occurred Thursday at the Cenex located near 13th and Jackson streets.
Someone reported the issue to authorities, saying the awning appeared at risk of collapsing. Officers responded by taping off the affected area as a precaution.
It remains unclear when the gas pumps will reopen.
The Cubby’s store at the location is still open.
