ATCHISON COUNTY, MO. — One person died in a crash just after 3 a.m. Saturday in Atchison County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that a 2013 Ford F-250, driven by a 21-year-old man from Omaha, Nebraska, was traveling east on 310th Street at Route N, about 10 miles north of Mount City. The driver failed to stop at a stop sign, and the pickup continued through the intersection before hitting a tree.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. EMS transported a 21-year-old male passenger to Mosaic Life Care.

According to the MSHP, the driver was not wearing a seat belt. The patrol no longer releases the names of crash victims.
