OHIO — A worker at a Ford Motor Company transmission plant in Sharonville died Monday morning after being pinned by machinery in an industrial accident, according to police.
Officers responded to the plant around 9:45 a.m. following reports of a workplace incident.
Investigators said a press machine undergoing routine maintenance unexpectedly activated, trapping a worker inside the equipment.
First responders freed the worker and performed life-saving measures at the scene before transporting the individual to a local hospital.
Police said the worker was later pronounced dead at the hospital. Authorities have not yet released the victim’s identity.
Officials are treating the incident as an industrial accident.
The Hamilton County Coroner’s Office, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and Ford administrative staff are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
