LOS ANGELES – Prosecutors filed charges Tuesday against Ivana Lisette Ortiz, the woman accused of firing shots at Rihanna’s Los Angeles mansion while the singer was home on Sunday.

Ivana Lisette Ortiz faces 14 counts, including attempted murder, use of a firearm, assault with a semiautomatic firearm, and shooting into an inhabited dwelling, along with additional enhancements.

Ortiz briefly appeared in a Los Angeles criminal courtroom Tuesday afternoon, but the court postponed her arraignment until later this month.

The Los Angeles Police Department said Tuesday morning that Ortiz drove to Los Angeles from Florida before the shooting.

“My understanding is the person drove here from Florida. How long they’ve been in the area … I don’t have that information,” said LAPD Chief Jim McDonnell. “They’re working on that. That would be part of the whole motive, why the person came out here. We haven’t established a motive, we do know, and are aware of, social media posts that had been made that they’re looking into further.”

Investigators said she went to the singer’s home Sunday afternoon carrying a semiautomatic rifle and fired multiple rounds toward the house. Rihanna was home at the time with her partner A$AP Rocky, their three children, her mother, and two staff members. No one was injured.

Authorities initially set Ortiz’ bail at more than $10 million, but later reduced it to $1.875 million.

Police said officials originally set Ortiz’s bail at $10 million partly because 10 victims were present during the shooting. It remains unclear why the bail was later reduced.

District Attorney Nathan Hochman said, “”The message is very simple and very clear. Come into this county from Florida, come into this county from anywhere in this county, and we will arrest you, we will prosecute you, and we will punish you if you want to engage in shooting at inhabited dwellings.”

He added that Ortiz’ motive remains under full investigation and said “law enforcement will be looking at any videos on social media and any additional evidence they can uncover to both understand her motivation and why she did these particular acts.”

If convicted on all charges, Ortiz could face up to life in state prison.

Details about the shooting at Rihanna’s home

Rihanna's Beverly Glen mansion was hit by gunfire while the singer was home, according to the LAPD and sources with knowledge of the investigation.

Multiple shots were fired at the residence, but none went through the inside of the home, sources said. The rounds struck only the exterior of the house. Several bullets also hit the outside of the property and a vehicle parked in front.

Video from the scene showed bullet holes on the home’s front gate that had been covered with tape.

Sources said the weapon Ortiz allegedly used was an AR-style gun. At least two homes on the block also had bullet holes.

In dispatch audio, officials can be heard saying an LAPD helicopter followed the suspect’s Tesla into a mall parking garage, where patrol units pulled her over and detained her.

Investigators are working to determine whether Ortiz knew Rihanna lived at the home. The motive behind the shooting remains under investigation, but law enforcement sources told ABC News they are examining all aspects of Ortiz’ life, including her social media presence, to find answers.

Rihanna shares three children with her partner, rapper A$AP Rocky.
