DCSO: Fight breaks out after hearing, one person arrested

A man involved in a deadly shooting outside a North Omaha motorcycle club received his sentence Monday.

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – A man connected to a fatal shooting outside a North Omaha motorcycle club was sentenced Monday.

Darnell Long Jr. received a prison sentence of 60 to 75 years on charges of manslaughter, discharging a firearm at an occupied building, and attempting to alter physical evidence.

He has already served 529 days in custody as credit. He will become eligible for parole in 31 and a half years.

According to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, a member of Long’s family got into an altercation with another individual following the hearing.

Authorities booked Tytrell Whitcomb on charges of disorderly conduct and obstruction. The DCSO said the incident remains under investigation.

The shooting occurred outside the Los Diablos Motorcycle Club near 24th and Ames in October 2024, killing Alexander Whitcomb and injuring a woman.

In January, Long entered a no contest plea to the charges.
