A Dundee resident, Mike Scofield, is using GoFundMe donations to provide weekly meals to TSA agents at Eppley Airfield.
A partial government shutdown has left TSA agents working without pay. Scofield previously carried out the same effort during a government shutdown in fall 2025.
OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) – A Dundee man is stepping up to support TSA agents at Eppley Airfield by donating meals while they continue working without pay during a partial government shutdown.
Mike Scofield loads his car with dozens of meals each week and delivers them to TSA agents at the airport.
3 News Now first met Scofield in the fall during a previous full government shutdown.
“I feel like this is something that is the minimum that we could do or should do,” Scofield said.
3 News Now’s Jeremy Fredricks joined Scofield as he once again took action to help unpaid TSA agents. His first stop was Little King in central Omaha, where he picked up 80 sandwiches, chips, and desserts.
“We make our cookies, our crispy treats, and brownies in house here,” said Aden Boyle, Director of Development at Little King.
After loading his car, Scofield drove to Eppley Airfield to deliver the meals.
“I think it’s just really cool to see the community stepping up to do something good, and I think if people know how to channel that into something, that’s a great thing,” Scofield said.
The TSA operates under the Department of Homeland Security, which has not been funded since February 14, 2026. Disagreements between Democrats and Republicans over ICE policies, also part of DHS, have led to the funding lapse. As a result, TSA agents are currently not receiving pay.
Scofield funds the weekly meals through donations collected on GoFundMe.
“I just wish that folks would not be put in a position where their livelihoods are questioned whenever there is a disagreement at the government level,” Scofield said.
Scofield said he will continue delivering meals to TSA agents until they begin receiving their paychecks again.
